Monsignor James P. Moroney is a Liturgical Consultant who reviews our designs for Catholic churches and chapels. Monsignor’s specialty is Western Iconography Church Design and he has lectured widely on this subject, having served on the staff that supervised the development of the USCCB guidelines on art and architecture, Built of Living Stones.
Monsignor Moroney is Rector of Saint John’s Seminary in Boston and Executive Secretary of the Vox Clara Committee and a Consulter to the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in Rome.
He served for over a decade as the Executive Director of the USCCB Bishops’ Committee on the Liturgy and is a former chairman of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions. A priest of the Diocese of Worcester, he is former Rector of Saint Paul’s Cathedral and pastor of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish in Spencer, Massachusetts.
Monsignor is author of several books and television series on various liturgical topics and has addressed more than 17,000 priests and deacons in recent years at the invitation of close to one hundred bishops.
